At N-Dance, we see dancers grow in confidence, skill, and passion every single week. But every now and then, someone’s story stands out so much that it inspires the whole team, and Molly-Mae’s journey is exactly that.
Molly-Mae joined our N-Dance academy over a year ago after hearing about it from her school friends. She’s always loved to dance, and she thought the movement and stretching might help with her scoliosis, a condition that had caused her pain for years. She quickly became a regular at our sessions, throwing herself into learning new routines, tricks, and techniques.
Her favourite challenge? Improving her flexibility. She worked hard, and just before a major turning point in her life, she managed to perfect her splits, a milestone she was so proud to include in her solo performance.

Earlier this year, Molly underwent major scoliosis surgery. This was no ordinary procedure; it took an incredible 17 hours, and she became paralysed twice during the operation. But in true Molly fashion, she fought through, and the surgery was a success. Not only did it ease her pain, but it also gave her an unexpected bonus: she grew 6cm taller!
What makes her story even more remarkable is what happened just days before her operation. Knowing she wouldn’t be able to dance for over a year during recovery, Molly performed her solo in front of a packed audience, including her family and N-Dance teammates. It was an emotional performance that left many in the crowd wiping away tears.
You might think that after such an intense surgery, Molly would take a complete break from dance, but that’s not her style. Even though she can’t perform right now, she still attends N-Dance sessions every week. She helps instructor Millie with technique work, shares choreography ideas, and cheers on her teammates. Her positivity and determination make her a true role model for everyone in our academy.
Molly’s journey reminds us that dance is about so much more than movement, it’s about resilience, friendship, and finding joy even in tough times. She’s proof that being part of an N-Dance community can lift your spirits, strengthen your body, and keep you connected, no matter the challenges you face.
We’re so happy to have Molly back in the group, even if she’s not on the dance floor just yet. She’s an inspiration to all of us, and we can’t wait to see her perform again when she’s ready.
???? Molly says:
“Dance has always made me feel amazing. Even though I can’t perform right now, being part of N-Dance keeps me smiling and motivated every week.”
Here’s to Molly’s continued recovery, and to the day she steps back onto the stage, stronger than ever. ????
