On Tuesday 15th April, Nuvo Wellbeing hosted our sold-out Dance 4 Life event at East Durham College – and what a day it was! Over 90 young people came together from across the region for a powerful, high-energy celebration of dance, movement, and creativity.
From the moment the doors opened at 9:30am, there was a buzz in the air – stalls, smiling faces, and an unmistakable sense of anticipation. Our theatre warm-up kicked off at 10:00am, followed by a full schedule of inspiring workshops, including Hip Hop, Commercial and Musical Theatre.
We were honoured to welcome Jay Asolo, who flew in from Dublin to lead several sessions, sharing his internationally recognised skills and passion with our young participants. Each workshop was supported by our incredible Nuvo instructors and volunteers, ensuring every child felt welcome, supported, and free to express themselves.
One participant summed it up perfectly:
“I absolutely loved it – the atmosphere was amazing, and the teachers were incredible. I can’t wait for the next one!”
Thank You to Our Supporters
This day wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of:
- K and M Electrical Services
- Regal Print
- Believe Housing
Your sponsorship helped us provide free places to young people who may not otherwise have been able to attend – ensuring this event was inclusive, accessible, and truly community-led.
What’s Next?
Due to the success of this event, we’re thrilled to announce that Dance 4 Life will now be an annual event – and we’ll be expanding to new locations across the North East. We believe in the power of dance to inspire confidence, build friendships, and boost mental and physical wellbeing – and we want to bring that magic to even more young people.
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, community partner, or sponsor – we’d love to hear from you if you’d like to be involved in future events.
Let’s keep the momentum going. Let’s keep dancing. 💃🕺
