Who we are
Nuvo Wellbeing was founded in 2008 by Bethany Ainsley. The multi award-winning social enterprise has supported thousands of people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. We have been recognised nationally and internationally for our work, demonstrating behaviour change, increasing physical activity levels, and improving health and wellbeing. Our partners include Sport England, NHS, Arts Council, Local Authorities and Public Health.
Our organisation works with adults and children of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to deliver fun, affordable, innovate and effective dance and wellbeing programmes across the North East. Through our close collaboration with university partners and independent assessors, we effectively showcase the outcomes we achieve. With a track record spanning 15 years, Nuvo Wellbeing has engaged with over 43,000 beneficiaries. As a non-profit entity, our core values emphasise inclusivity, ensuring that geographic location or financial constraints do not hinder opportunities. Any excess revenue generated is reinvested into local initiatives, aligning with our commitment to community enhancement.

Passionate about innovation
At the heart of our approach is employing all our staff directly, making sure we have a highly trained and qualified team who know and are mainly from the areas where we work. We also have a skilled and experienced board of directors, giving their time for free, who we can draw on for advice and support.
We work constantly as a team to consult locally on what is needed, build partnerships, and to capture and record our impact using the best tools and techniques we can.
At Nuvo Wellbeing, we are passionate about innovation. Working with key partners and stakeholders we are able to develop new and exciting methods to support people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to engage, increase and sustain physical activity levels.
