Celebrating Women’s Leadership in Wellbeing: Nuvo Wellbeing’s Inspiring Team

Imagine a world where every woman’s potential is unleashed, where their achievements are celebrated, and where their contributions are valued without bias or discrimination. As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, we reflect on the journey towards gender equality and recognise the remarkable women who are driving positive change in their communities.

At the forefront of this movement is the female team of Nuvo Wellbeing, a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to promoting health and wellness in local communities.

Founded by Bethany, Nuvo Wellbeing emerged from a vision to address the lack of accessible physical activity options, particularly in areas facing health and social inequalities. Bethany’s leadership and commitment have propelled Nuvo Wellbeing to become an award-winning initiative, positively impacting over 48,8000 lives across age, ability, and backgrounds.

Nuvo is now lead by Natalie, whose journey with Nuvo Wellbeing began as a participant. Natalie’s dedication and passion for empowering lives through accessible wellbeing programmes has allowed her to transition from participant to manager, highlighting the transformative impact of Nuvo Wellbeing’s initiatives and the opportunities it offers for personal and professional growth for women. Natalie’s growing influence in her field is exemplified by her recent recognition as a ‘Change Maker’ in the 2024 Northern Power Women ‘Future List’, celebrating influencers of the future making an impact to their communities today.

Millie, another integral member of the Nuvo team, embodies the spirit of continuous learning and development. Also starting as a participant in community dance sessions, Millie’s journey led her to pursue qualifications in sports and fitness, before joining Nuvo Wellbeing full-time as a Business Administration apprentice and Dance Instructor. Her commitment to both personal growth and supporting Nuvo Wellbeing’s mission underscores the organisation’s ethos of empowerment and inclusivity. Millie’s accessible and inclusive dance sessions are loved by many, and her participants have become a strong community of women supporting each other to obtain optimal wellbeing.

Roisin, a Non-Executive Director with a diverse background in dance, law, and community engagement, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the team. Her multifaceted expertise and commitment to community-driven innovation align seamlessly with Nuvo Wellbeing’s vision, enriching the organisation’s strategic direction and impact.

Lesley, a Non-Executive Director with her first hand experience of the transformative power of wellness, adds a unique perspective to the team. Her journey from overcoming health challenges to championing the importance of physical activity underscores Nuvo Wellbeing’s mission of promoting holistic wellbeing for all.

Together, these remarkable women exemplify the transformative potential of inclusive leadership and collective action. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to driving positive change inspire us to imagine a world where gender equality is not just an aspiration but a reality.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let us honour the achievements of women everywhere and commit to fostering a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

Let us #InspireInclusion, celebrate diversity, and take action to build a future where gender parity is not just a dream but a fundamental principle of our society. Because in a world where everyone’s contributions are valued and celebrated, we all stand to benefit.
